Ok, why not, tell me the e-mail address for sending a savefile.
I understand that this is so hard and ungrateful work, trials
and errors, testing, changing, etc.
I forgot to mention that Plutonia and TNT have different menus and options that PS2 does not support at all at startup and different pictures shown at startup.
Also I noticed Plutonia and TNT (and Doom 2 also but still works) uses different version of WAD ver. 1.2, I think, original Doom uses ver. 1.0, reported at startup. It seems that the source for PS2Doom was written only for version 1.0 WAD and this version runs perfectly. Maybe it does not support all later extensions and modification in these latter WADs specifically written for PC or something like that.
I wish you good luck and all the best!

Ok, I wasn't expecting issues with Doom2... Could you please send me your savefile? Under debugger I could try to figure out why the code is crashing. I'm not expecting to be able to look at it soon but I surely will.

About the Ultimate issue, I haven't investigated but it looks more like a limitation of the original linux sources than a PS2 version problem... If under the linux version I still have the same behaviour, i'm afraid there's nothing I could do.

I can investigate also the Plutonia and TNT problems as soon I get those WADs since I don't have them and of course, when I have the free time.

Hi,
I tried Doom 1, Doom 2, Ultimate, Plutonia and TNT WADs.
Doom 1 seems to be working fine.
Doom 2 played OK few levels, but game frose at "Dead simple" level I think). I saved a game at that level, and I can't continue - the game freezes after loading that level.
Ultimate version of Doom WAD has 4 stories (compared to 3 at Doom 1). PS2Doom sees only 3 stories and not all levels in them. I think there are more than 8 levels per story in Ultimate version of Doom WAD.
Plutonia and TNT WADs froze each time I start these WADs in main menu after a few seconds in menu. So these two even fail to start.
I tried this using PS2 Slim PAL console, uLaunchELF program and a usb Apacer 2 GB flash card.
This is my experience with playing with different WADs. I hope this problems are minor and I am looking forward to play Plutonia and TNT again on my PS2.

Hi,
I wasn't aware these WADs were incompatible... I haven't tried them to be honest but I was hoping they would play ok. What problems are you experiencing? Does them fail to start or have problems during play?

Great work ! I tried PS2Doom a few times, and as a Doom fun, I tried
few wads. Doom 1 and 2 worked well, but there are also some that didn't work well: Plutonia and TNT. Do you plan to expand the compatibility with more wads, since I think this issue is the most important for us players. After that it is easier to add some fancy stuff, like music, etc.

I've got me on a bad day. Sorry for the harsh answer.

Please keep in mind I work at this port on my limited free time. Also, I don't use all of my free time to do development. So, updates will be slow I'm afraid.
Unfortunatily, asking for news will not do any good...

No, there are no updates. If there were, a new post should be here, right?
